We are excited to announce for the 19th year of Project Faith we will be serving HopeTree Family Services in Salem, VA on Friday, September 11th.
About HopeTree Family Services:
The mission of HopeTree Family Services is to provide Christian residential, educational, and support services to at-risk children and youth and their families, and to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities through a wide range of ministries.
HopeTree Foster Care introduces children who need stable, loving homes to families who can provide them. Their on-site school, HopeTree Academy, provides a safe and secure educational program for students with unique educational needs in grades 7-12.
These students are often at-risk or in-crisis. HopeTree Academy allows students to grow emotionally and socially, and to develop academic and job skills, while connecting with vital resources.
Additionally, HopeTree operates community-based group homes that offer support to adults with developmental disabilities, striving to create an environment in which adults with intellectual disabilities can experience the most complete life possible.
Christian Education is provided at HopeTree, offering youth and adults opportunities to participate in regular chapel services and Bible studies on campus and throughout the community.
Project Faith Outreach Project – HopeTree Family Services
Our students and their families are helping HopeTree Family Services during this time by:
- Encouraging residents by sending cards and drawings with words of encouragement, a verse, or hopeful image
- Sewing masks for the staff
Work we will do:
Volunteers will be painting exteriors and interior rooms of several buildings; cleaning cottages, recreation areas, and fleet vehicles; weeding, mulching and landscaping, and much more. These are projects HopeTree Family Services simply would not be able to complete due to budget and personnel constraints.
