Head of Lower School
Faith Christian School, a JK-12 Christian classical school nestled on 27 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking a Head of Lower School beginning in June for the 2025-2026 school year. Founded in 1997, Faith has a current enrollment exceeding 200 students. The successful candidate would join a faculty of friends committed to professional excellence, providing academic and cultural leadership to faculty, students, and parents in the Lower School. He or she ensures that all components of the Lower School program align with Faith Christian School’s commitment to our distinct Christian classical pedagogy and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of that division. Specific responsibilities include leadership of faculty and staff, oversight of curriculum and instruction, and facilitation of effective communication with students and families. The position begins this summer in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, and administrative experience in a Christian classical school is preferred but not required. He or she should demonstrate a mature walk with Christ, an understanding of and commitment to the historic creeds of the Christian faith, and a desire to disciple students, nourishing their souls in truth, goodness, and beauty. As part of our administrative team, the Head of Lower School reports to the Head of School.

Humanities Teacher (25-26)
Faith Christian School, a private, JK-12 classical Christian school nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking both a middle and upper school humanities teacher. The position is open to teachers who are eager to work alongside fellow life-long learners and who share a passion for awakening a love for great literature and history in the hearts, minds, and souls of students. The ideal candidate is familiar with classical Christian pedagogy. Proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and usage skills are required, as well as the practical skills necessary to produce exceptional writing. Furthermore, applicants should be eager to integrate disciplines, to lead students to see how God reveals his nature and character through universal literary and historical themes, and to model the power of dialectic and Socratic teaching methods. Music Teacher (25-26)
Faith Christian School is seeking a part-time upper school music teacher (may be full-time if the candidate is qualified to teach other subjects). Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Roanoke, Virginia, our school is highly committed to the arts – Music, Theatre, Art – believing they play a critical role in shaping the affections of our students. The applicant should be eager and able to build on our current Christian, classical program. It will include music history, literacy, composition, appreciation, listening skills, and a robust understanding of a Biblical rationale for the importance of music. Director of Athletics
Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia on 27 acres, Faith Christian school is a distinctly Christian classical school of over 200 students in grades JK-12th. Believing the realm of athletics provides unique opportunities for developing character and encouraging healthy, lifelong habits, Faith desires to hire an athletic director who shares a passion for using the realm of athletics to develop virtues of honesty, integrity, courage, hard work, fair play, discipline, and fortitude in students. To this end, the athletic director will be responsible for the administration and supervision of the athletic program and its alignment with the school’s mission. He or she will provide the Christian leadership necessary for successful day-to-day operations of the department.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the role sports, athletics, and physical well-being can play in the lives of students of all ages and should be able to articulate a philosophy of the same from a Biblical perspective, answering the question, “What might God desire for the role competition and physical training to play in our lives?” The applicant will possess the excellent organization, communication, and people skills necessary to fulfill a vision for a robust athletic program. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, hiring, managing, and evaluating coaches able to profess a vibrant Christian faith; arranging for coaches’ professional support and training; scheduling of games and securing the required supplemental roles and responsibilities in supporting competition - officials, concessions, ticketing, special events, awards, etc.; building relationships with other schools’ athletic directors; participating in related organizations; adhering to proper safety protocols and injury response. Finally, the candidate will have a vision for how athletics and competition can proactively contribute to school spirit and esprit de corps.
Based on the applicant’s background and experience, he or she may be expected to take on a minimal teaching load in areas of competency.
The Athletic Director will report to the Head of School, sit on the administrative counsel, and work closely with the Director of Finance to manage the appropriate budgets.

- Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction to be able to focus and see close and distant.
- Hearing: Must be able to talk or hear by telephone and in person.
